A journey into the unknown

At Orreco we understand the challenge of applied sports science is the delivery of robust and rigorous science to constantly changing and unpredictable environments. An applied sports scientist has to bridge the gap between the lab and the field, whilst serving the needs of the athlete, team and coaches they are supporting. The impact sport science can often depend on the sport scientist’s ability to navigate these challenges and provide insightful and actionable information.
In a recent article first published in The Sport and Exercise Scientist, Issue 54, Winter 2017, published by The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (www.bases.org.uk), Dr Richard Burden provided some reflections of his time supporting the decorated Paralympic champion David Weir, in the face of significant constraints.
